From Dr.

Welcome to the Acupreneur Community News!
Greetings Dear Ones,
What a month!
Please take some time to peruse this issue carefully. You will see that it is laid out a
little differently than in the past.
It will still be filled with news, editorials, letters to the editor,
articles, and your community calendar.
In addition, yours truly will be continuing the coaching corner,
providing you with practice tips to help you grow your practice.
In addition to this news comes a great deal of gratitude to my
team for making this change over happen quickly and easily. First to Amy, the editor of the
Acupreneur Community News who is the corner stone of this publication and
updates the Acupreneur Blog daily bringing you the news that affects you and
your work. She is doing a fantastic job. The blog has become a one-stop
destination to find out quickly and easily what goes on in the world. Thank you AMY!
Second, to another member of our team, Brenda Zeller,
bodyworker, coach, and my business manager who brings the newsletter to the
format before you and skillfully takes care of the Acupreneur!
And last but not least, our readers...without whom there would
be no reason to create this publication!
My heart is filled with gratitude.
As I always say...it takes a village.
Enjoy today's issue
Eric G. Schneider, D. Min.
From The
Editor - Amy Hello All --
I have to
apologize for the delay in the Community Newsletter. We're experimenting with
new forms and html codes. Right now I'm so glad that I'm an editor. I write and
disseminate and let the computer gods worry about making it look pretty. I am
totally hopeless when it comes to anything to do with the internet except
finding things on it. Google rocks!
Anyways, thanks for holding in with
us and we're going to be up and running like a cheetah before you know it (like
today!).
If you have any suggestions or ideas, I'd be really glad to hear
them. If there's a kind of article that would help or you'd like to publish an
article, send it on. I'd love to see what the community has to say about
anything!
Cheers All!
Amy

News of Interest!
CAM
is on the rise. Granted the good
news comes out of the UK ,
but we are already wise to the fact that the United Kingdom is much more accepting of
complementary therapies than the US
. "The
University of Ulster survey found the use of therapies such as
reflexology, acupuncture and herbal medicines was increasing [in
Ireland
]. It found using such therapies was especially strong
among women aged between 35 and 54.
- BBC News UK Or click here
for the link to the press release by the University of
Ulster about their
study.
Channel 8 in Connecticut ran a story recently about holistic pet health care. "A whimper or
faint meow can mean a trip to the veterinarian's office, and there's a growing
trend in animal health care that has pet owners turning to holistic
veterinarians." It's not unusual to
find folks who treat their pets better than themselves, but this growing trend
could see a lot of people turn to holistic and natural health care for
themselves as well. This isn't just
a trend in Connecticut
either. The Albuquerque Tribune recently ran a story about animal
acupuncture and its efficacy.
And again another trend is
starting. I have to admit my jaw
dropped a little when I saw this headline.
But it's true: "Acupuncture
for babies? Figures show there has been a massive boom in
the numbers of infants and toddlers being treated by alternative
therapists. "
(a free registration may be required to read the whole story) Again the UK takes the cake for being as
progressive as you can. While some
people may treat their pets as babies, everyone treats their babies as
gold. I'm
surprised and impressed that there are people out there open-minded enough to go
holistic with infants. Maybe the
tide is turning in acupunctures favor. "While
growing up in China, Dr. Zhi Gang Sha studied Chinese martial arts, such as tai
chi, qigong and Shaolin kung fu, as well as acupuncture and traditional Chinese
medicine. Later, he developed his own system of acupuncture. But he's also
versed in Western treatments -- he received a medical degree in Western medicine
from Xi'an Medical University in China. Since 2000, Sha has been traveling the
United States to spread the word about his healing techniques." He will be
practicing in Gwinnett, Georgia. What an amazing boon for Georgia!!
The Mayo Clinic now recommends acupuncture for
fibromyalgia. They say that Oriental Medicine is helpful because it helps
people heal from the inside by doing things like sleeping more, taking on less
stress, and managing pain more effectively. This is wonderful news out there to
help all the women suffering from this debilitating disease.
On MSNBC.com
Dr. Judith
Reichman offers insight for women going through menopause. She says that
while hormone replacement therapy has some unexpected gains (proper care can
help offset Alzheimer's) it also has some major drawbacks (women are more open
to breast cancer). Reichman says that "acupuncture can stimulate endorphins and
neurotransmitters, including serotonin, that help you feel good. It also may
regulate the brain production of nitric oxide, which affects pathways in the
brain that are connected to your central thermostat."
And on the lighter
side of the news a St Petersburg teenager finally stopped hiccupping. Jennifer
Mee, 15, hiccupped for more than a month before she made a televised plea on
NBC. She tried everything, including acupuncture nearly last, and suddenly they
stopped. No one is sure exactly why, but I have my suspicions. Congrats
Jennifer!

The Coaching
Corner... Where Spiritual Wisdom Meets Business Common
Sense.
The secret of The
Secret...Working the
Law of Attraction. By now you may have seen The
Secret or at least heard about it.

The Secret
|
|
The Secret is a movie that goes into great detail about the
power of the Law of Attraction and the fact that it is at work in your life as
we speak.
The Law
of Attraction simply stated: " is that
thought can attract to us that which we first mentally embody, that which has
become a part of our mental make-up, a part of our inner understanding."
Every
person is surrounded by a thought atmosphere. This mental atmosphere is the direct
result of his/her conscious and unconscious thought, which, in turn,
becomes the direct reason for and cause of, that which comes into his
life.." - The
Science of Mind, By Ernest Holmes.
Now the Law
of Attraction is NOT the power of positive thinking.
It is not just about your conscious mind. It is about
what is going on underneath the surface. It is about changing and
transforming old beliefs, old misconceptions and old programming.
This is
where the " real" work
is.
Tune in next week for the next part of the Law of Attraction
and you!
