From The Editor
From the Editor:
Cheers all and hope you had a
fantastic week.
It's been an allergic week around
here. Ragweed is in season and is blooming in oceans around here. I
am itchy from my head to my toes and just can't stop scratching no matter how
many showers or what kind of soap I am using.
The spring rain should hopefully put
a damper on the flying pollen, but in the meantime I'm a walking, talking
itch.
Hope you enjoy the news this
week. And as a personal note I'd just like to publicly offer my hope and
sorrow to Teddy Kennedy and his family. Let's hope he is able get his
disease under control and continue to lead a long and productive
life.
If there is any news I missed or
anything that needs to get out, please do let me know. I can be found at

Happy weekend everyone!!

out there who feel the same way you do and are struggling with the same

How to beat backache - Four out of five of us will suffer at
some time -- but not for the reasons we think. Alison Taylor consults the
experts and sets the record straight on beds, bad posture and bending.
This morning, you probably didn't think twice about slinging your overstuffed
bag over your shoulder, while reaching for the keys with one hand and backing
out of the door with a piece of cold toast in the other. But there may come a
time when one of these simple, everyday manoeuvres will trigger a backache bad
enough to call in sick, see a doctor or, at the very least, pop a few
painkillers.

Pancreatic Cancer Cells Killed By Traditional Herbal Medicine,
Jefferson Researchers Report - An herb used in traditional medicine by many
Middle Eastern countries may help in the fight against pancreatic cancer, one of
the most difficult cancers to treat. Researchers at the Kimmel Cancer at
Jefferson in Philadelphia have found that thymoquinone, an extract of nigella
sativa seed oil, blocked pancreatic cancer cell growth and killed the cells by
enhancing the process of programmed cell
death.
Google launches online medical records service - Google on
Monday launched Google Health, a long-anticipated medical records service
letting US users store and manage their health care information online. The
offering raises privacy concerns and draws yet another battle line between
Internet search king Google and global software giant Microsoft, which began
offering a similar HealthVault service in
October.
Herbal Medicines For Mental Wellness - Modern society is now
applying the concept of using herbal medicine as treatment in different mental,
physical, and emotional health problems, as well as promoting proper health and
maintaining balance in our body's health. Today, many are using herbal medicines
as a cost-effective way to treat common health problems, and as treatment to
major ones like diabetes, cancer, and so on. Most common than not, herbal
medicines are being used to alleviate emotional and mental health problems that
is quite common in today's lifestyle. Mental problems like depression,
behavioral irregularities, anxiety, and more are being treated using herbal
medicines rather than its expensive, synthetic counterpart.
