Happy week everyone and hope you have something wonderful planned for the weekend. As we seem to have reverted to winter weather again I think that I'll plunk myself down in front of the Wii and try to master the gymnastics portion of the Olympics game. I hope I'll still have the use of both wrists at the end of the weekend.
I did succumb this week and
ran the latest story on the journey of the blind acupuncturist in Texas. I
wish her well. There's nothing she shouldn't be able to do that others
can. I mean if our money isn't even in Braille and yet the blind use it
then what is there that can't be done (well besides drive or a career as a
sharp-shooter of course). What are your thoughts?
To tell you the truth I think
what most impresses me about this woman is how she keeps trying and doesn't ever
seem to take no for an answer. Each time she gets knocked down by the
commission or the state she's going after her license once again. Never
say die.

News of Interest! Nation's top oncologists discuss latest cancer - More than
30,000 cancer specialists have gathered in Chicago to learn about the latest in
cancer research, from new drugs that can add precious time to a cancer patient's
life to the significant role of holistic medicine in cancer treatment. These are
just some of the headlines coming out of the American Society for Clinical
Oncology's annual meeting.
Hypnotherapy for bedwetting - How Hypnotherapy compares with
other treatments for bedwetting and one boy's story Andrew Tan, 9, arrived at
most early childhood milestones at a young age, and with ease. He walked at 9
months old. He was stringing sentences together and was potty trained when he
was 2 years old. But when it came to being dry at night, Andrew had a different
story. "We just thought that he'd come to it sooner or later," says Joanna Tan,
Andrew's mum. "But at 6, he was still wetting the bed at night." Blind woman a step closer to acupuncture license - Committee
recommendation includes restrictions and awaits board approval. After
months of negotiation, Austin resident Juliana Cumbo on Friday moved closer to
becoming the first blind acupuncturist licensed in Texas, albeit with
restrictions not normally placed on applicants who can see. The licensure
committee of the Texas State Board of Acupuncture Examiners recommended that
Cumbo be granted a license for three years but stipulated that she would not be
allowed to practice alone and would have to be in a group or hospital setting.
She would also have to report to the state any time she inadvertently stuck
herself with a needle while practicing and could not practice on patients with
visual impairments without the presence of a staff member -- such as another
acupuncturist or nurse -- who can
see. Doctors using acupuncture during surgery - For centuries,
acupuncture has been used for its pain-relieving benefits. Now, doctors are
using the therapy in an unexpected setting: the operating room. Lauren Hennessey
is being prepped for surgery. Along with drugs, she's also getting acupuncture.
