From The Editor
From the Editor:
Cheers all and happy end of the
week. Before we start I'd like to take this opportunity to send out the
biggest and best birthday wishes to our good friend Dr. Michael McCoy. I
won't call out any numbers but I will say that Michael is older than God
today. I encourage every one of his friends to send him a note and tease
him about his advanced age today!
I had a happy weekend last
weekend. I managed to get out and away for the first time in a dog's
age. I've been trying to take a mini-break for about 4-5 months and
finally got it this weekend. And I think it ended up being a great thing
for my confidence and general mental well-being. I finally managed to get
my first birdie in a game of golf without any cheating (no mulligans or
do-overs). I felt like I could take on the world. Still
do.
So I guess my advice for you all is
to do something amazing you didn't think you could ever accomplish because this
seems to be the time to get that stuff done. I'd suggest sending a
beautifully worded nasty-gram to anyone that seriously calls acupuncture "quack
medicine"and try to get them to see some kind of reason. But that may be
shooting for the stars. But you never know.
Good luck in your endeavors and
please let me know if you have results whatever you attempt to do!
Cheers

The Coaching
Corner... Where
Spiritual Wisdom Meets Business Common

"The gem
cannot be polished without friction, nor man perfected without trials."
~ Chinese
proverb
Greetings Dear Ones,
I am off on holiday for two weeks and I wanted to share
something that I feel is a very important happening.
An Acupreneur just invested in one year of private
coaching.
Now this might not seem like a big deal to you...and that is only
because you don't know my fees for private coaching and you also don't know that
I have a 6 month waiting list for private coaching clients...but it is a big
deal to this person, me and the profession.
You see, it marks a huge shift in the realization that we all need
help in order to make major shifts in our lives!
Starting this September, I will be offering the Acupreneur and
Acupuncture community group coaching. If you are interested I suggest
applying for a spot.
Anyone who wants to join the group coaching program needs to be a
member of the Acupreneur because you will need access to that
information.
Your application does not guarantee you a spot. This is a
first come, first served basis and is based on your readiness for
coaching.
Here is what you will receive during the group coaching
process:
1. 2 group coaching calls per month.
2. Email support from me on Tuesdays through Thursdays, except when
I am away.
3. Weekly Work Out log to check and evaluate your
progress.
Click here to fill out your application.
Very best,
Dr. E

Quotes to Inspire
"A non-doer is very often a critic-that is, someone who
sits back and watches doers, and then waxes philosophically about how
the doers are doing. It's easy to be a critic, but being a doer requires
effort, risk, and change." ~ Dr. Wayne W. Dyer
"The person who gets the farthest is
generally the one who is willing to do and dare. The sure-thing boat
never gets far from shore." ~ Dale Carnegie
""Everyone who got where he is has had
to begin where he was." ~ Robert Louis Stevenson
"Duty makes us do
things well, but love makes us do them beautifully." ~ Zig
Ziglar

Who
else wants to know how to fill their practice by UTILIZING their spiritual values instead of
compromising them?
Have you ever thought to yourself,
"This has to be easier, it can't be this hard!"

Well you are not alone, there are thousands of practitioners
out there who feel the same way you do and are struggling with the same
challenges you are! And that is why I wrote this book - to help you take
the guesswork out of filling your practice and offer you a step-by-step method
for filling it based on what is important to you with quality patients and
clients. You can purchase
and download your copy of " Fill Your Practice In 100 Days, But Don't
Start Counting Just Yet" right now! Click here

News of Interest!
University's 'quackery' courses slammed - New science degrees
in Chinese medicine on offer in Preston have been labelled "quackery" by a
senior lecturer at the city's university. From next month, the University
of Central Lancashire will run the qualifications in herbal medicine and
acupuncture in conjunction with the Northern College of Acupuncture. But
one member of staff has accused the university of running courses that would
"severely damage" its reputation and have "no academic
justification".
![]() LDL Cholesterol Associated With Cancer in Patients With
Diabetes - Low levels of low-density lipoprotein (LDL) cholesterol, as well
as high levels, are associated with cancer in patients with type 2 diabetes,
according to a study published in the August issue of the Canadian Medical
Association Journal.
Acupuncture Therapy for Rape Victims - Rape victims in Alachua
County now have the opportunity to seek therapy through acupuncture. According
to the National Institute of Health and the World Health Organization,
acupuncture is effective in treating post-traumatic symptoms. Victim Advocate
Therapist, Linda Murray, says the program will also help survivors of rape. The
Rape Crisis Trust Fund is sponsoring the twelve week program, which includes
acupuncture and counseling for five women. Murray says this is the first time
they are implementing the program. The program is being offered through the
Alachua County Victim Services and Rape Crisis Center and women who are
interested in learning more about this program should call (352) 264-6760.

Acupuncture for Psychiatric Illness: A Literature Review - The
use of complementary and alternative medicine (CAM) is on the rise,1,2 with
psychiatric patients, especially those diagnosed with disorders such as anxiety
or depression, more likely to use CAM than are patients with nonpsychiatric
illness.3,4 The ancient Chinese treatment of acupuncture incorporates the use of
ultra-fine needles (diameter 0.15-0.30 mm), which are inserted into specific
points on the skin (acupoints). Acupuncture is central to the treatment regimen
of traditional Chinese medicine (TCM), along with other manual therapies (eg,
Tui Na, Chi Gong), herbal remedies, and nutritional and lifestyle changes. TCM
promotes a holistic, energy- based approach to well-being, as opposed to the
disease-oriented approach of Western (scientific) medicine. Both the US National
Institutes of Health and British Medical Association recognize acupuncture as an
effective treatment for many medical conditions,5,6 although for many in the
medical profession, acupuncture and other CAM treatments remain
enigmatic.![]()
Community Acupuncture made it on to NPR! Not in the Pacific
Northwest for the most part, due to Republican convention coverage, but pretty
much everywhere else. Marketplace, which is the program it aired on, keeps a
pretty long archive, so people can still listen to it for a few months at least.
