From The Editor
From the Editor:
Happy week end all and hope you had
a fantastic week and are looking forward to an even better weekend.
I'm a little nervous about putting
in one of these stories up there. I read the news story and thought that
it's just living proof that troglodytes know how to put words to paper.
Some people will not step out of their comfort cocoons for anything. But
that doesn't stop them from throwing stones at the rest of us walking around
enjoying the sun. But if that's the worst kind of ogre to shoot down, then
the world isn't that bad.
Any takers on this particular
monster? Let me know if you get anywhere.
Have a good weekend everyone and
we'll see you next week with more.
Cheers,
Amy, Editor Community

Greetings Dear Ones,
Becoming a successful acupuncturist does not happen overnight.
It is a step-by-step process that must be attended to gently, carefully,
consistently and with support.
If you are just starting out, things may look a little overwhelming. What
should I do? Where should I start? How is this all going to work?
I know some who are bi-vocational acupuncturists. They have an
unrelated job and do acupuncture on the side. While some feel they must do
this, I would suggest that you work at becoming an associate of someone else
instead. This way, you are doing what you trained to do and keeping your
hand in it is essential for future development.
School only prepared you to work with patients/clients but not how to start,
run, maintain and build a successful practice. In most cases, those
lessons are learned the hard way.
This is why I created the Acupreneur - to make sure that the information
needed to start a practice, build a practice and maintain a practice would
available.
Then, over the many years of the Acupreneur's existence, I realized that
support was also necessary and that is why we added the support forums - a place
where you can get your questions answered.
Ask yourself, do you need information?
Do you need support?
If you do then join the Acupreneur today and get what you

Quotes to Inspire
"As you begin to take action toward the fulfillment of
your goals and dreams, you must realize that not every action will be
perfect. Not every action will produce the desired result. Not every
action will work. Making mistakes, getting it almost right, and
experimenting to see what happens are all part of the process of eventually
getting it right." ~ Jack Canfield
"If you don't act
now while it's fresh in your mind, it will probably
join the list of things you were always going to do but never quite got
around to. Chances are you'll also miss some opportunities." ~ Paul
Clitheroe
"You've got to seize the opportunity if
it is presented to you." ~ Clive
Davis
"The way to get
started is to quit talking and begin doing." ~ Walt
Disney

Who
else wants to know how to fill their practice by UTILIZING their spiritual values instead of
compromising them?

"This has to be easier, it can't be this hard!"

Well you are not alone, there are thousands of practitioners
out there who feel the same way you do and are struggling with the same

News of Interest!
Acupuncture Clinical Trial a Boon for Women Experiencing Fertility
Challenges - Getting pregnant with her first child was difficult, and when
Rebecca Killmeyer of Charlottesville, Va. experienced a miscarriage during her
second pregnancy, she wasn't sure if she would ever have another baby. She
decided to enter a study testing the impact of acupuncture on women with
polycystic ovary syndrome at the University of Virginia Health System, and came
out with a miracle. "To our great surprise, we were blessed with a third
pregnancy during the PCOS study," said Killmeyer. "I'm absolutely certain the
acupuncture treatments helped me ovulate regularly, which allowed me to become
pregnant."
![]() Students travel to China to learn about traditional medicine -
A group of UConn students traveled across the globe this summer to learn about
medical practices that have existed for thousands of years. Seven students from
the School of Pharmacy and six from other academic disciplines spent five weeks
in Beijing, China studying traditional Chinese medicine. They took field trips
to herb farms and pharmaceutical groups, watched acupuncture performed on
patients, and studied Mandarin. They also visited hospitals that prescribe
herbal medicine and the factories that produce it. "It was an amazing
experience," says Grzegorz Rdzak, who is in UConn's Pharm.D. program. "I never
would have done something like this on my own. I learned a lot about the culture
and many aspects of herbal medicine."
Fighting Cancer On All Fronts - For many patients the
diagnosis of cancer can be physically devastating with chemotherapy, radiation,
and surgery. But for some, the disease takes even a larger toll. The
psychological stress can put a strain on families and friends, even finances.
But, one local cancer center is aggressively treating those other aspects of
cancer care. Nori Pomphrey is not taking her breast cancer lying down;
she's using acupuncture to beat the
disease.
Wasting tax money on superstition - Tucked away in the
recently-enacted county budget is $20,000 for acupuncture to be used in the
treatment of drug addiction. This amount is small potatoes to the County
Council, but not to this ordinary taxpayer. That $20,000 is about five times my
property tax bill. And every dime of it is a total waste. Acupuncture is a relic
of Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM), which is based on two provably false
ideas.

Cranberries -- A Newly Discovered Herbal Medicine - Perhaps
all herbal medicines we know of today have weird or exotic names. Except for
Garlic and Ginger -- which are probably the most common herbal medicines --
sound close to being herbal sources. But would you every think that a name such
as Cranberries could become an herbal drug too? Probably not. The world
was at extreme awe when it first discovered Cranberry as a potent cure to many
forms of illnesses. It does not only serve as a cure, but a preventive herbal
treatment as well. Because of the taste and the popularity of Cranberry, it
wasn't really hard putting it on the market because people instantly knew that
it is not only safe to use but a tasteful herb as well.
